CHAPTER – 4: - UPDATING THE SD DATABASE

ADDING MANUALLY ( ONE BY ONE )

ADDING A PERSON DETAIL

 Organization  à Person à New Person

 Fill the respective fields and then click on SAVE

ADDING A WORKGROUP DETAIL

Organization  à Workgroup à New Workgroup

Fill the respective fields and then click on SAVE

ADDING A CONFIGURATION ITEM DETAIL

CMBD à Configuration Item àNew Configuration Item

Fill the respective fields and then click on SAVE

 IMPORTING THROUGH EXCEL FILE

 First get the data in the excel file

  Creation of DSN

Start à Control Panel à Administrative Tools à OBDC

 Give a name to the File and save. 

Select Tools -> system

à Data Exchange Task

Now give the path for the *.ini file

 And new Data Exchange Task

Click on Export

 Give the Export Configuration file’s address and then the address of Exchange file

Now click on Import and then Import Mapping and map the Columns

Click on OK to Start

 Click on OK

 Wait till the transaction takes place/…..
