About the Institute :-
Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIM-TECH) was established in
1988 as a wing of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture. After
successful introduction of One Year (Part Time) Post Graduate
Programme in Management, and another Three Year (Part Time) Programme
in Management, the BIM-TECH launched a Two Year (Full Time) Management
Programme in 1993. Since BIM-TECH has been established by one of the
leading corporate groups of the country, industry interaction is
constantly emphasized. Besides imparting a strong, holistic
indigenous system of management and IT education, BIM-TECH places a
premium on high level of integrity and personal ethics.

Eligibility
Candidates
seeking admission should have A Bachelor's Degree of a university or
a regonized institute. Those who have appeared or are to appear in
Bachelor's Degree Examination 2001 may also apply. They may be
provisionally admitted, but their examination result must reach the
Institute by October 16, 2001.
Fee Structure
Fee payable
to the School per year is as follows :
Non NRI & Non Sponsored Candidate :
Semester I to IV Rs.50,000 each ,
Total fee (for 2 years) : Rs.2,00,000.
Sponsored Candidates :
Year I : Rs.2,00,000, Year II : Rs.2,00,000,
Total fee (for 2 years) Rs.4,00,000
NRI Candidates :
Year I : $8,000, Year II : $7,000,
Total fee (for 2 years) $15,000.
Campus and Facilities
Accommodation/Hostel Facilities :
BIM-TECH now
offers hostel facility to the out station students. There is a
seperate residential arrangement for both boys and girls. These are
located in the vicinity of the Institute. Hostels are equipped with
necessary furniture,telephone,water cooler and power generator.
Besides providing these basic amenities to the hostel inmates, a
regular transport facility is also available. Care has been taken to
organise regular healthy meals three times a day. The mid-day meal
is provided in the Institute. Medical services are available on
consultancy basis. Entertainment facility like TV and indoor games
have also been arranged in hostels.
Recreation :
With a belief that healthy minds live in healthy bodies, BIM-TECH
promotes physical fitness and mental health among students. These
traits of personal growth are cultivated by a series of sports and
yoga activities. The state of the art Birala sports centre at
BIM-TECH campus has a swimming pool, a multi-gym, a skating rink,
badminton courts and table tennis tables. Students can avail any of
these sports facilities by becoming the member of the Birla Sports
Centre. Trained coaches guide students to learn intricacies of
physical fitness.

Computing :
Computer access gives the students as insight o changes in
Information Technology and equips them to manage the various aspects
of business in the context of the changing global scenario. The
computer centre consists of 15 Pentium nodes connected with a Compaq
server running on WINDOWS -NT 4.0. It also has Internet facility,
multimedia and business application software to assist students
while preparing their projects and presentations. To support the
initiative of the institute to give an opportunity to its students
for having especialisation in IT. and Strategic Technology
Management electives, a new state-of-the art Computer Lab has been
recently established. It has 20 Pentium III nodes connected to a
Compaq Proliant server. An ISDN line has been provided for internet
connectivity. The new computer lab has been networked with the
"Corporate Resource Centre (CRC)" and faculty rooms. The faculty can
interact with the students working in the lab. The students-computer
ratio in the institute is currently 10:1. Keeping in view the need
for computers awareness almost 12 hours access to the Computer Labs
is given to the students along with sufficient practical training.
As regard software, the institute has the following : Operating
Systems- DOS 6.22, Windows-95, Novel Netware-4.1, Windows-NT4.0. The
business application software available are MS-Office, SPSS, Lotus
Smartsuite, Visual Foxpro 3.0, MS-Project and Tally 5.0. The
institute also has the following designing software : Coreldraw 5.0,
Adobe Premier and Adobe Photoshop. The Institute plans to give the
facility of RDBMS like Oracle and its application in the near
future.
Library :
The Institute has a well equipped library with sufficient seating
capacity. It has an elaborate collection of books on various aspects
of management and also on related subjects. Latest books on general
management as well as all functional areas of management and the
related areas of economics, trade technology and business
environment are continuously added. The library subscribes to the
Indian and foreign periodicals which assist in disseminating
information and updating knowledge. To make the library responsive
to the needs of the students their advice and suggestion are
incorporated in the functioning of the library.To meet the
challenges created by the Information Revolution, efforts are being
made for networking with other libraries at national and global
levels
