University of Pune Phd Entrance Exam 2013 Notification released

    University of Pune has come out with a notification announcing the Entrance Exam for PHd Admissions 2013 2014. You can check the eligibility Conditions, application formalities and, Important dates for Applying and sitting for PHd Entrance Exams and other relevant information

    For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:

    Person having a post Graduate Degree(Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA).

    Persons having passed Post-Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination Law Faculty with at least 55%

    5% relaxation for reserve category students of Maharashtra State only

    Eligibility Criteria:

    Exemption from appearing Written Test:

    Qualified in GATE(valid score)/GPAT(valid score)/SET/NET/JRF/SRF Examinations of apex bodies such as CSIR/UGC/ICRA/ICMR/DBT and DST inspire fellowship only.

    M. Phil degree completed from any Statutory Recognized University in a relevant subject.

    The candidates are fulfilling the condition as per University Circular Nos:-

    a) Circular No. 95/2013 Dt.16/04/2013

    b) Circular No. 119/2013 Dt.14/05/2013

    c) Circular No. 190/2013 Dt.12/07/2013

    The candidates already qualified in Ph.D. Entrance Examination Paper- I conducted by University of Pune on 10th February, 2010 and 17th December, 2011 will be exempted for Paper- I

    Documents Required:

    Application forms are available only on website University of Pune : Registration for Ph. D. Entrance Examination Candidates have to fill the form online and draw a hard copy of the same after online submission and submit it to the Assistant Registrar, P. G. Admission Section, University of Pune, Ganeshkhind, Pune: 411007

    The hard copy of the application form generated from online system along with Stamped Bank Challan towards examination fee and following necessary documents must reached on above address.

    Candidates can also submit form personally (by hand) to the Above Address

    Copies of the following attested documents are to be enclosed with the form:

    Name of Document:

    University Copy of Bank Challan

    Attested Xerox Copy of Mark List of Master’s Degree

    Attested Xerox Copy of Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Categories (If Applicable)

    Attested Xerox Copy of Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in case of person with disabilities (P.H.) candidates (If Applicable)

    Attested Copy of Medical Certificate in case of candidates exempted as per University Circulars (as mention in exemption column no. iii)

    Attested copy of previous result of Ph. D. Entrance Examination Paper- I (if applicable)

    All above documents must be submitted by hand or by post in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm.

    Acceptance of the form and the fees does not guarantee eligibility for taking the test. Eligibility criteria have to be met by the applicant.

    Permission to appear for the Test is provisional till such time the candidate fulfils the eligibility criteria.

    Important Dates:

    Start Date of Online Application Form: 14th Oct 2013

    End Date of Online Application Form: 31st Oct 2013

    Last Date of submission for Printed Application Form along with Documents: 6th Nov 2013

    Date of online Ph.D. Aptitude Test (Paper 1): 17th Nov 2013

    Date of Result: 18th Nov 2013

    Important Instructions

    The application form will be available only online on the website University of Pune : Registration for Ph. D. Entrance Examination

    Candidate should enclose following documents along with the hard copy of application form

    a) University copy of Bank Challan.

    b) Attested Xerox copy of Mark list of Master’s Degree.

    c) Attested Xerox copy of the Caste Certificate in case of Reserved Categories (if applicable).

    d) Attested Xerox copy of the Medical Certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in case of Persons with Disabilities (P.H.) candidates (if applicable).

    e) Attested copy of certificates in case of candidate exempted as per University circulars (as mention in exemption column no. iii)

    f) Attested copy of previous result of Ph. D. Entrance Examination Paper- I (if applicable)

    No request for changes in the information provided in the online form will be entertained

    Incomplete applications will be rejected without assigning any reason and no correspondence will be entertained

    The PET examination will be conducted in English language for all faculties and for Arts & Fine Arts, Mental Moral & Social Science, Commerce, Education, Phy. Education faculty & Geography from Science faculty in Marathi language also

    Online registration process will be treated completed only after receipt of Hard Copy of application form along with necessary documents.

    Candidate should fill-up the online application form and must send hard copy of the Application form along with above mentioned documents by post(prefer speed post)or personally (by hand) on or before 6th November 2013 to the following address:

    Examination Fees:

    Open Category AND Visually Handicapped (VH i.e. Blind) & Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates: 1000.00/-

    Reserved Category (SC / ST / D.T/.N.T. /OBC /SBC): 750.00/-

    The candidates who are exempted from appearing Paper- I & II

    Open Category AND Visually Handicapped (VH i.e. Blind) & Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates: 800.00/-

    Reserved Category (SC / ST / D.T/.N.T. /OBC /SBC): 600.00/-


    The examination fees can be paid by “Direct Cash Deposition” in any branch of “Bank of Maharashtra” or “HDFC Bank” using “system generated Challan”

    Examination fees once paid cannot be refunded.

    Hall Ticket:

    If your form is valid (with all details, attested enclosed documents, true eligibility criteria) then University Authority will approve your Application Form the status as of your Application Form will change to “Approved”.

    You can see your status by login to your account with the your registered Username and Password.

    All approved applicants will receive online Admit Card (Hall Ticket) for Ph.D. Entrance Examination.

    To take a print of the Hall Ticket, Login to the website with registered Username and Password, and click on “Download Hall Ticket” Link

    Paste your passport size photograph on the space provided on Print of Hall Ticket and get it attested from Principal of any Senior College or Govt. Gazetted Officer.

    Student should carry the admit card for the examination.
