    Applications in prescribed form are invited from the candidates eligible for admission to the following programmes of studies for the session 2013-14
    B.Tech: Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology
    Eligibility: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) subjects at 10+2 and pass marks in English
    Integrated B.Sc B.Ed (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics major in B.Sc)
    Eligibility: First division in the Higher Secondary (plus two) School final examinations (Science stream)
    Integrated M.Sc in Chemistry
    Eligibility: Minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) subjects at 10+2 and pass marks in English
    Integrated M.Sc in Mathematics
    Eligibility: Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Statistics subjects at 10+2 and pass marks in English
    Integrated M.Sc in Bioscience and Bioinformatics
    Eligibility: Minimum 60% aggregate marks with Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or Mathematics subjects at 10+2 and pass marks in English

    BA with a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks
    M.A. in Cultural Studies (Modular)
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 2nd class in major/honours subject
    Candidates having no major/honours must have a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate
    M.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 45% marks in major/honours subject
    Candidates having no major/honours must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    M.A. in Sociology
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Sociology major/honours or in any subject offered as major/honours
    Candidates not having major/honours must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    M.A. in Hindi
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with major/honours in Hindi form a recognized university or bachelor’s degree with Hindi as an elective subject having at least 50% marks in aggregate
    M.A./M.Sc in Mathematics
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% marks in major/honours, either Mathematics or Statistics
    Candidates with Statistics major/honours must have Mathematics as subsidiary course with a minimum of 50% marks
    Candidates not having major/honours must have 50% marks in aggregate as well as in Mathematics
    M.Sc in Chemistry
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with major/ honours in chemistry subject with a minimum of 45% marks and having Physics and Mathematics as subsidiary subjects
    M.Sc in Environmental Science
    Eligibility: B.Sc in Physical/Biological/Earth and Environmental Sciences as major/ honours with a minimum of 50% marks
    Candidates not having major/honours must have 55% marks in aggregate or B.Sc (Agri) with at least 5.0 CGPA in 10 point scale or equivalent
    M.Sc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary, Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, four years B.S. programme (Physician Assistant course) or Medicine, MBBS or BDS with a minimum 55% marks in major/honours or aggregate
    Those who have passed the qualifying examination before 2 years from the date of announcement of admission are not eligible
    M.Sc in Physics
    Eligibility: B.Sc with a minimum of 45% marks in major/honours in Physics having Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects
    Candidates not having major/honours must have 50% marks in aggregate as well as in Physics
    M.Sc in Nanoscience and Technology
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with 45% marks in Physics as major/honours subjects and Chemistry,
    Biological Science/Mathematics as allied subjects; or
    Bachelor’s with 45% marks in Chemistry as major/honours subject with Physics, Biology/Mathematics as allied subjects; or
    Bachelor’s with 45% marks in Biology as major/honours subject with Physics, Chemistry/ Mathematics as allied subjects
    Candidates having no major/honours must have minimum 50% marks in aggregate
    M.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology
    Eligibility: B.Tech/B.E. in Polymer Science and Tech/ Fiber Science & Tech/Rubber Tech/Plastic Tech/ Chemical Engineering; M.Sc in Chemistry/ Polymer Science/Applied Chemistry from a recognized institution with 50% or equivalent grade
    Candidates with valid GATE score will get preference
    M.Tech in Information Technology
    Eligibility: B.E./B. Tech degree in any discipline or MCA or its equivalent or M.Sc in Computer Science/IT/Electronics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    M.Tech in Electronics Design and Technology
    Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech/AMIE/AMIETE in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering or M.Sc in
    Electronics/Instrumentation/Physics (Electronics as specialization)/AMIETE with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    M.Tech in Bioelectronics
    Eligibility: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Instrumentation / Chemical Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering / Bioengineering / Neuro Engineering / Genetic Engineering / Biotechnology / MBBS or M.Sc in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Chemistry / Polymer Science / Physics / Electronics / Nano Science and Technology / Instrumentation or MBBS with at least 50% marks in aggregate
    M.Tech in Energy Technology
    Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech/AMIE in Mechanical/Electrical /Electronics /Instrumentation /Chemical/Agricultural Engineering/ Energy Engineering or M.Sc in Physics/Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    Master of Computer Application (MCA)
    Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in major/honours subject or 55% marks in aggregate for those candidates having no major/honours

    Post B.Sc Integrated M.Tech in Food Engineering and Technology
    Eligibility: First class graduates with qualifications of B.Sc with Chemistry as one of the subjects/B.Sc (Agriculture)/B.Sc (Home Science) with elective in Food and Nutrition/B.Sc Food Science/B.Sc

    Candidates must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level
    M.Tech in Food Engineering and Technology (lateral entry)
    Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech degree in Food Engineering/Food Processing Engineering/Food Technology/ Agricultural Engineering/Chemical Engineering (with specialization in food)/Biotechnology or related field with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (the B.Tech/B.E. programme completed by the candidates should satisfy the AICTE requirements); or
    2 years M.Sc in Food Technology/Food Processing Technology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
    M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization Applied Mechanics)
    Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech or equivalent bachelor degree in Mechanical, Production, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Metallurgy, and Civil Engineering or in any other relevant engineering discipline
    PG Diploma in Translation (Hindi)

    Ph.D: English and Foreign Languages, Cultural Studies, Chemical Sciences, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Energy, Food Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Sociology, Mathematical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Mass Communication and Journalism
    Eligibility: Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management Sciences/ Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Master’s degree in the allied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 55% of marks or an equivalent CGPA in the master’s degree
    B.E./B.Tech with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent CGPA with valid GATE score
    A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or foreign institution with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
    Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in the qualifying examination in 2013 can also apply
    They will be admitted provisionally if otherwise found eligible at the entrance examination
    The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination must complete their qualifying examinations in all respects by the date of admission
    Such candidates if selected for admission will have to produce the evidence of completion of the examinations on the day of admission
    If admitted such candidates will be required to submit the evidence of passing the qualifying examination fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria by 15th November, 2013


    Selection

    B.Tech: B.Tech programme on the basis of performance in the JEE (main) conducted by the CBSE to be held on 07th April, 2013 (pen and paper based) and 08th April, 2013 to 25th April, 2013 (computer based)
    Approximately 50% of the seats will be filled in through the central counseling conducted by the CBSE
    For this no separate application will be required
    Remaining seats will be filled in by the candidates of North East states
    The candidates of NE states qualifying in the JEE (main) should apply to this university for admission against the seats reserved for NE domicile candidates for which counselling will be held at Tezpur University
    Candidates from NE states securing any of the top 10 positions in the higher secondary board/council examination with an aggregate marks of 85% or more will be directly admitted in the discipline of his/her choice
    Integrated M.Sc, Integrated B.Sc-B.Ed (Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics major in B.Sc): Selection of candidates for these programmes will be on the basis of the common entrance examination of the particular department
    Integrated M.A. in English, Integrated B.A.-B.Ed: (English Major in B.A.) Selection of candidates for these two programmes will be on the basis of the common entrance examination of the Dept of English and Foreign Languages
    PG Degree, Diploma, Certificate Programme: Selection on the basis of performance in the entrance examination conducted by Tezpur University
    However, for some programmes such as M.Sc in MBBT, Integrated M.Tech in Food Engineering and Technology, MA in Mass Communication and Journalism, MA in English and PG Diploma in Mobile and Multimedia Communication, PG Diploma in Tourism Management group discussion and/or interview may also be conducted
    GATE qualified candidates with valid GATE score in the relevant subjects may seek for direct admission without entrance examination in the M.Tech in Information Technology, Electronics Design and Technology, Bioelectronics and Energy Technology, provided they meet the cut off score
    Ph.D: Ph.D programme on the basis of written test and personal interview conducted by the departments
    List of the candidates short listed for written test and personal interview will be displayed on the Tezpur University website
    No call letter will be issued separately
    Reservation: In cases of M.Tech programmes in Information Technology, Energy Technology, Electronics Design and Technology, Bioelectronics and PG Diploma in Mobile and Multimedia Communication some seats are reserved for sponsored candidates
    However, they have to qualify Tezpur University entrance examination 2013
    Self Supported Scheme (SSS): Tezpur University has a provision for SSS
    Only the left over of the waitlisted candidates shall be eligible with additional fees not exceeding 5 times of the normal fees

    Application Form: Tezpur University application form along with the prospectus can be obtained from the designated branches of Punjab National Bank by paying Rs 510/- (Rs 260/- for SC/ST) or by sending a request to the Controller of Examination, Tezpur University with a demand draft of Rs 560/- (Rs 310/- for SC/ST) in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University, payable at Tezpur, with a self addressed unstamped envelope of 36 cm x 25 cm, or downloading the application forms from the website Welcome to Tezpur University, INDIA
    Downloaded application forms should be accompanied by a draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Tezpur University payable at Tezpur for Rs 500/ ( Rs 250/- for SC/ST)
    Candidates applying for more than one programme should apply separately for each programme
    However, candidates applying for Integrated M.Sc/Integrated B.Sc-B.Ed programme under a particular Dept need not apply in separate application form
    Similarly, for Integrated M.A./Integrated B.A.-B.Ed (English major in BA) programme candidate needs to apply in a single application form
