    Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering Admission 2012-13

    The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment in the Indian Power Sector

    The course improves and enhances the knowledge and skill of the diploma engineers

    Duration: This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of Operation and Maintenance of Thermal Power Plant

    The course shall be held at the NPTI, WR, Nagpur and on-job training will be conducted at the nearby Power Stations

    The course authorizes the Diploma Engineers to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100MW and above together with the associated sub station

    Eligibility: Three years Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Control and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 60% (55% for reserved categories) marks

    Selection Procedure: As per merit (percentage of marks in Diploma)

    Age Limit: 25 years as on 01st October, 2012

    No age limit for sponsored candidates

    Seats: 65 (sixty five)

    Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH is applicable as per Govt norms

    The seats may vary as per discretion of NPTI

    25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates

    Placement: NPTI maintains close linkages with Power Utilities for employment of these trained engineers

    How to apply: Typed application on plain paper strictly as per application format (proforma ‘A’) given on website Welcome to National Power Training Institute, nagpur. (NPTI) along with a demand draft (non-refundable) of Rs 600/- in favour of NPTI Nagpur, payable at Nagpur should reach the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur-440022, Maharashtra latest by 17th September, 2012 (postal delay will not be accepted) with two passport size photographs and attested photocopies of documents in the following format

    Name of applicant; Father’s name; Father occupation; Father’s address with Tele number; Mother’s name; Postal address of applicant; Tele number of applicant; Email address; Date of birth and age as on 01st October, 2012; Sex; Marital status; Nationality; Categories (General/SC/ST/OBC/PH); Application type (Sponsored/Non-sponsored); Educational qualifications starting from 10th standard stating Branch/Discipline, Subject, College/Institute; Percentage of marks in each semester/year; Percentage of Diploma, year of passing; Demand draft number, date and bank’s name; Identity proof of candidate; Signature of candidate

    Fees: For non-sponsored candidates Rs 1,20,000/- plus Service tax (12.36%) in two installments

    For sponsored candidates Rs 1,70,000/- plus service tax (12.36%) payable in lump-sum at the time of admission

    There is no fee concession for any category of candidates

    Fee for candidates from SAARC countries US $11000/- plus service tax (12.36%)

    Fee for other countries US $ 13000/- plus service tax (12.36%)
