    Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering
    Post Graduate Diploma Course in Transmission & Distribution 2013-14
    Why You Should Join? The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector
    Besides, the course shall enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineers sponsored by the Power Utilities etc
    About the Course: This is a modular course of one-year duration
    Formal training is held at Regional Institutes of NPTI Located at Badarpur (New Delhi), Nangal (Punjab), Neyveli (Tamil Nadu), Durgapur (West Bengal), Guwahati (Assam), Nagpur (Maharashtra)

    On-job training PDC is conducted at the nearby Thermal Power Stations and on state-of-the-art Simulators at NPTI Faridabad/Badarpur/Nagpur
    The courses cover the syllabus as per Indian Electricity Rules
    Eligibility: B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Power/Control and Instrumentation Engineering
    For PDC (TPPE): Minimum 60% in 10th & 60% in Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Regular Basis)
    Those appearing in their final year examination can also apply
    However, they must submit their degree/provisional degree at the time of counseling
    Selection criterion for admission: Merit % in qualifying examination
    Age limit: For non-sponsored candidates the age limit as on 26th July, 2013 for PDC is 25 years and PGDC (T & D) is 27 years
    No age limit for the sponsored candidates
    Sponsored candidates shall send their application through their organization
    Total Seats: 80 in PDC Thermal and 45 in PGDC (T&D) course
    Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (including minority sub-quota) /Physically challenged as per Govt of India norms
    25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power Utilities having more than one year experience as on 1st July, 2013 and more than 60% marks in Engineering Degree
    Seat allocation of the Institutes: Badarpur-65, Nangal-40, Neyveli-65, Durgapur-65, Guwahati-40, Nagpur-65
    Total number of seats may vary as per requirement
    Vacant seats in sponsored category may be filled by non sponsored category and vice-versa if required
    Placement: To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI is maintaining close linkages with Power Utilities and reputed companies for employment of the trained engineers
    Most of the students are placed in reputed Power Sector Companies before the completion of the course
    However 100% placement is not guaranteed
    How to Apply: Applications are to be filled online with demand draft details (demand draft for the prescribed registration fees of Rs 800/- in favour of NPTI Nagpur, payable at Nagpur must be ready at the time of registration)

    Each applicant will be given a unique ID on successful registration at site
    This ID must be preserved for future reference
    On registration the hard copy along with the testimonials (refer website) and demand draft should be sent to the Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur-440022along with two copies of passport size photographs (with Name and ID written on backside) latest by 26th July, 2013
    The registration shall be confirmed online only after the receipt of the hard copy of application with demand draft
    Course Fee: May be paid in three installments by non-sponsored candidates of PDC course and in two installments of PGDC (T&D) course
    Course Fee: For non-sponsored candidates Rs 1, 30,000/- (in 3 installments)
    For candidates sponsored from PSUs/Private Utilities Rs 1, 65,000/- lump sum at the time of admission
    There is no fee concession for any category of candidates
    Course Fee for Foreign Nationals: SAARC Countries US$ 13,000, Other Countries US$ 15,000
    Lodging/Boarding: Hostel Facility is available and provided on first come first served basis, subject to availability on extra charges
    Separate hostel for girl candidates

    Important Dates
    Last date of receipt of application: 26th July, 2013 (both courses)
    Results/counselling declaration: 09th August, 2013
    Counseling: PDC: 27th August, 2013 and 28th August, 2013
    O&M of T&D: 29th August, 2013 and 30th August, 2013
    Commencement of course: 02nd September, 2013
    PGDC (T&D):02nd September, 2013
