CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (An Autonomous Organisation under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India) JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (Main) Unit H-149, Sector-63, Noida, District Gautam Budh Nagar-201309 (UP) JEE (Main)-2015 In pursuance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification, the 3rd Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2015 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent 3 examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization. The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland & Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State level examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2015 application form online. The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad. INFORMATION BULLETIN: The detailed information bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria to appear, examination fee, cities of examination, State code of eligibility, age relaxation, process of normalization of marks, eligibility for admission, reservation policies and important dates will be available on JEE (Main) website on 7th November 2014. The aspiring candidates are requested to download the information bulletin from above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying. APPLICATION FORM: The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE (Main) website. The online application process will start from 7th November, 2014 onwards, the last date for application is 18th December, 2014. The eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) & JEE (Advanced) are different. The candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and themselves ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) as well as JEE (Advanced). In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE (Main) secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country who will help the candidates in filling online application without any charge. The list of such institutes is available on the JEE (Main) website and in JEE (Main) - 2015 Information Bulletin. DETAILS OF EXAMINATION: JEE (Main) - 2015 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech.) and Paper-2(B. Arch./ B. Planning). Depending upon on the course(s) candidates are seeking admission, may take Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch./ B. Planning), or both. Date of Birth General Candidates Born or after October 01,1990 Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person with Disabilities (PwD) Candidates Born or after October 01, 1985 Note: Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered. B. YEAR OF APPEARANCE IN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION (QE) Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2013 or 2014: or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2015. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2012 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2016 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2015. The candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2012, did not pass in 2012, but passed in 2013 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2015.
