    The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LLB & LLM). The 14 participating NLUs in the order of their establishment are:

    The first CLAT Core Committee consisting of Vice-Chancellors of the seven participating NLUs at that time decided that the test should be conducted by rotation in the order of their establishment. Accordingly, the first Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted in the year 2008 by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Subsequently, CLAT-2009, CLAT-2010, CLAT-2011 and CLAT-2012 have been conducted by NALSAR-Hyderabad, NLIU-Bhopal, WBNJUJS-Kolkata and NLU-Jodhpur, respectively. The CLAT-2013 is being conducted by Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur.
    Eligibility:

    Eligibility for Under-Graduate Courses



    To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013-14, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates).* Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims. * Subject to State reservation at the University concerned.



    Eligibility for Post-Graduate Courses



    To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013-2014, a candidate should have obtained a LLB/BL Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates).* The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.



    The candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. **



    * Subject to State reservation at the University concerned.
    ** The candidate must have passed/appeared in the final semester/final year examination of the qualifying examination on the date of his/her admission. Such candidates will be provided provisional admission only and they will have to submit their final results of qualifying examination within the timeframe prescribed by the respective Universities/Institutes.
    How To Apply:

    PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING AND SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION FORMS:



    Mode of obtaining Application Form and Information Brochure for CLAT-2013-14



    Ø Printed OMR Application Forms along with the CLAT-2013-14 Information Brochure will be made available at the designated branches (refer-www.clat.ac.in) of the State Bank of India (SBI) and in all the participating NLUs mentioned above against payment of Rs.3000/- only (Rs.2500/- in case of SC/ST candidates on submission of proof) excluding the bank charges. For purcahasing Application Form from the designated branches of SBI, fees can be paid through a ‘Challan’ by furnishing the required information about the candidate as specified in the 'Challan' form. For purchasing Application Form from the participating NLUs, the candidates can make payment either through ‘Cash’ or ‘Demand Draft’ drawn in favour of the Registrars of the concerned NLUs to be payable at the respective cities of their location.



    Ø Application Form and CLAT-2013-14 Information Brochure can also be procured through registered/speed post by sending a requisition letter (with Father’s Name, Contact Numbers, detail Mailing Address and PIN Code) to the Convener, CLAT-2013-2014, Hidayatullah National Law University, Post – Uparwara, Abhanpur, New Raipur – 493661 (Chhattisgarh) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.3100/- (Rs.2600/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “Registrar, HNLU – CLAT 2013 A/C” to be payable at Raipur (Chhattisgarh). Rs. 3100.00/Rs. 2600.00 includes an additional amount of Rs.100.00 being charged for sending the Application Form and Information Brochure through Speed/Registered Post.





    Ø Candidates can also apply online by visiting and following the instructions given in the CLAT-2013 (Common Law Admission Test - 2013). The online payment for applying for CLAT-2013-2014 can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In case of online application, the candidates will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees online through payment gateways.



    Ø Old Question Booklets for UG as well as PG courses will be available at the designated branches of SBI and participating Universities/Institutes including the organizing university (i.e. HNLU, Raipur) at a cost of Rs 200/- per booklet. The Question Booklets will also be made available on the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test - 2013) and can be downloaded by making online payment of Rs 200/- through net banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In addition to making online payment of Rs 200/-, the applicant will have to bear the bank transaction cost for remitting the charges online. In case, the question papers are sent on request through registered/speed post, the candidates will have to bear an additional cost of Rs 100/- towards the postage charges.





    Mode of Applying



    Ø Duly filled-in OMR Application Form along with a copy of the Bank Challan/Cash Receipt/Demand Draft can be submitted to the Convener, CLAT-2013-14, either in person (from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. on all working days) or through registered/speed post so as to reach the following address on or before 05:00 p.m. of 30th March 2013. The relevant certificates/documents in support of one’s claim for admission are not to be submitted along with the Application Form. The original certificates/documents (as indicated in the OMR Application Form and specified in the CLAT-2013 Information Brochure) issued by competent authority are to be submitted to the allotted University/Institute only at the time of admission.     As the Hidayatullah National Law University is located 30 kms away from the main city of Raipur and the courier services are not up to the mark, the candidates are advised not to send their applications through courier.



    Ø Application for CLAT-2013 can also be made through online (Common Law Admission Test - 2013) including online payment of application fees and uploading of the passport size (3.5 x 4.5) photograph and scanned copy of the signature through electronic mode. Candidates applying online must visit and carefully read the instructions given in the CLAT-2013 (Common Law Admission Test - 2013). The online payment can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In case of online application, the candidates will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees online through payment gateways.


    Note: Incomplete application or application received after the last date shall not be considered. University shall not be responsible for any postal/courier delay.
